2024 SUMMER READING: ADVENTURE BEGINS AT YOUR LIBRARY
Saturday, June 1 to Saturday, July 27
Sign up in person or online through the Beanstack website or app. Children: Track how many minutes you read or are read to in Beanstack or on your paper game board to earn fun, themed prizes. Teens: Track how many minutes you read online, write reviews, and complete activities to earn prize raffle tickets. Adults: Track your reading online or complete a paper entry to earn prize raffle tickets.

SURVIVAL KITS FOR ADULTS
Tuesday, June 4, 6:00 to 7:00 pm, Auditorium
Presented by the Cleveland Metroparks, learn how to put together a survival kit with the basics needed for most survival situations. Get an understanding of how items can be used in multiple ways as well as some hands-on practice with survival skills. Registration required.

SUMMER READING BLOCK PARTY ADVENTURE <– Teen Volunteer Opportunity!
For all ages
Saturday, June 8, 12:00 to 3:00 pm, Library Lawn
Begin your summer adventure at the Library! Adults, teens, and children are encouraged to start their summer right by signing up for our Summer Reading Program. Unlock new prize levels by reading, attending events, and completing activities. Celebrate the midpoint of our Cuyahoga Reads program with the kickoff of One Book, One City: The Boys in the Boat by Daniel James Brown. Stay for food, games, and music. Adventure begins at your Library!

Also, with support from the Cuyahoga Reads project, add to your summer by joining our One Book, One City adventures! We will have 100 paperback book copies of the book “Boys in the Boat” by Daniel James Brown, and 150 copies of the young reader edition available for patrons attending the Summer Reading Kickoff on June 8, while supplies last. Print, audio, and digital copies of each title are available to borrow through the Library.

Library Lawn Concert
For all ages
Wednesdays, June 12 & July 17, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Lawn
Grab a picnic blanket or a chair and join us this summer! Purchase dinner from a food truck and enjoy live music on our lawn.

Readers of all ages are invited to gather around this summer as Rocky River Public Library presents “Adventure Begins at Your Library” this summer. Sign up in person at the Children’s and Adult Services desks, through our Beanstack website (above), or download and install the Beanstack app below.

WOMEN IN HISTORY: CALAMITY JANE
Thursday, June 13, 7:00 to 8:00 pm, Auditorium
Come adventure with Martha “Calamity Jane” Cannary, a frontierswoman from the wilds of the Rocky Mountain west. Women In History is a non-profit dedicated to the education of all people through the dramatic re-creation of lives of notable women in history.

CURBSIDE CRAFTS TO GO
For school-age children, tweens, & their families
Mondays, June 17 & July 15, 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, Lobby
Beat the heat and pick up a packet by the front door with directions and supplies to make a cool summer craft. Have fun, be festive, and create at home. All you need is glue or a glue stick. Available while supplies last.

SUMMER CAMP CRAFT ADVENTURE
For Adults
Saturdays, June 22 or July 27, 2:00 to 4:00 pm, Auditorium
Who says summer is just for kids?! We’re revisiting our favorite camp activities and upgrading them to our adult lives. Join us to create a variety of summer camp crafts. Choose one session only. Registration required.

WHERE IN THE LIBRARY IS KATHERINE WILDER?
For students completing grades 4-6
Thursday, July 18, 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm, Purple Room
Ms. Wilder, Rocky River Public Library’s first Librarian and Director, is missing! Work together to navigate the Library, solving clues to find her before it’s too late. Registration required.

MINI GOLF ADVENTURE: BUILDING SESSION
For school-age children, tweens, & their families
Thursday, August 1, 2:00 to 3:30 pm, Auditorium
Does your family like building with everyday objects? If so, come create a golf hole for our Mini Golf Adventure! Just bring your imagination, and we will provide supplies and examples. Then stay to play the course. Please register as a family.

MINI GOLF ADVENTURE: PLAY THE COURSE

Stop by the Library to play a round or two of mini golf on a course created by our Library community.
